Day Two: Onward to Jeju Island

May 17, 2011

Jeju, South Korea - Day two of the 2011 World Club Championship was a travel day. At 7:30am everyone left the Grand Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Seoul for a 45-minute ride to Gimpo International Airport. Two flights were needed to accommodate all 65 people who were making the one hour journey to Jeju Island and The Club at Nine Bridges. Upon arrival at Jeju, Nine Bridges welcomed all the players and guests and women dressed in traditional flowing gowns directed everyone to the limousine bus for a 40-minute ride to the Club.

The Club at Nine Bridges is located at the top of a volcanic mountain which was evidenced along the drive. Farmland was predominating until entering the extensive acreage belonging to Nine Bridges. Pristine and lush with pine trees, deer, quail and a host of natures best roam the area.
Lunch was served in the Club House overlooking the 18th green following by practice. A casual dinner was served also in the Club House and most made it an early night to prepare for the first day of play on Wednesday.
