Bangkok,Thailand (October 13, 2016) - The “Amazing Kingdom of Thailand: World Club Championship 2016 hosted by Ayodhya Links” in Ayutthaya, just outside Bangkok, will be held from December 3 - 9, 2016.

Club Champions and businessmen from 25 countries from around the world will participate in the event, which will be held for the first time in Thailand, the leading destination for tourism and golf in Southeast Asia.

US GOLF Magazine selected Ayodhya Links as one of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World in 2015. It is the only golf course in Southeast Asia to be recognized in the Top 100. Ayodhya Links is one of the most exclusive courses in the world, is ranked 76th in the Top 100 list, and is a 37th ranked Platinum Club of the World. Therefore, it came as no surprise that the World Club Championship Committee selected Ayodhya Links to host the premier amateur golf tournament, “AMAZING KINGDOM OF THAILAND: WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2016”.

Mr. Pitak Intrawityanunt, Founder and Chairman of Ayodhya Links, said, “The Club and the Country are honored to get the opportunity to exhibit its potential in sport tourism, culture and history. This is a great chance to show our guests from 25 countries our magnificent golf course. We are honored to welcome all of them to Ayodhya Links from December 3 to 9, 2016. Besides golf, they will be charmed by the rich art and culture of the Kingdom and the stunning natural attractions this great country provides.”

To enhance the experience of the participants, the hosts have planned a number of selected activities that will showcase the rich heritage and history of Thailand. The players will get a glimpse of some of the finest Thai traditions, arts, local food and attractions of the two capitals of the Kingdom – Ayutthaya and Bangkok.

"Ayodhya Links, with its magnificent surroundings, provides a tough challenge to golfers. Designed by Mr. Pitak and his construction team, with assistance from Peter Thomson and Ross Perret on the initial master plan, each hole is unique and unlike any other golf course. The participants will be challenged and will enjoy the course. Ayodhya Links is in exceptional condition with variety and subtle green complexes, and immaculate yet fast-paced greens. The world-class services and hospitality rivals any other course in the world and shows why Ayodhya Links is appreciated by all golfers and is a part of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World and a Platinum Club of The World," Mr. Pitak said.

Mr. David V Smith, Founder of the World Club Championship, said he was delighted that Thailand was selected to host “AMAZING KINGDOM OF THAILAND: WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2016”.
